Three major Vietnamese airlines, Vietnam Airlines, Jetstar Pacific, and Vasco, will add fuel surcharges of up to US$11 for domestic tickets as of August 15, following a directive from the Finance Ministry.
The ministry in June abolished import taxes on airplane fuel to help local airlines cope with surging fuel prices.
The airlines, however, proposed they be allowed to apply the surcharges to cope with increased costs.
