Contestants on the Bridge Pagoda
|
The thirty contestants participating in the 15-day final round of Miss Vietnam 2008 pageant were present in the ancient city of Hoi An on August 19 in the late afternoon to prepare for the first competition today, August 20, Miss Photo.
Hoi An city was even more beautiful and crowded thanks to the Miss Vietnam pageant. Banners, flags and flowers were everywhere to welcome the national beauty contest, which is being held in the city for the first time.
A party was organised at the Hoai Thanh Hotel, Hoi An, on August 19 in the evening as a chance for southern and northern contestants to get acquainted with each other.
The topic of the Miss Photo sub-competition, which began at
5am
this morning, is “Beauties, ao dai and ancient city”. Thirty contestants wearing ao dai posed for photos on
Pagoda
Bridge
in the centre of Hoi An city.
Correspondents and foreign visitors took this opportunity to take photos of Vietnamese beauties.
After taking photos at the bridge, contestants were divided into eight groups. They then posed with different props like conical palm hats, paper fans and in front of ancient houses, etc. In addition, contestants had to make a 12-second presentation about themselves for recording clips, which will be broadcast on the final night.
Contestants were very professional with smiles always on their lips. Though they were very tired after a long journey and had to wake up very early to make up, all girls were brilliant in their best ao dai.
The Miss Photo competition will continue tonight with portrait photos taken by photographers from the Thanh Hang Altamoda Company.
