Vintage bike and car clubs nationwide are rushing to bring as many lines of vehicles as they can to Hoi An as part of Quang Nam Province’s Heritage Journey Festival from June 4-7. The auto show will overlap with the festival, held from June 3-5.

Head of Palm Garden Resort Nguyen Thanh Sang told Thanh Nien that this year’s bike and car tour looks set to “outperform” the last one held in 2007.

In addition, some environmentally friendly and uniquely designed vehicles around 50 years old will travel from Hoi An to other destinations in Quang Nam Province, said Sang.

Included in the line-up are 30 vintage cars, 20 jeeps, 50 Mobylettes, 50 Vespas, 20 Geely CD motors, and 50 coupe automobiles of various makes.

Miss World 2008 Ksenia Sukhinova, her 2007 predecessor Zang Ji Lin, and three models from Vietnam’s north, south and central regions will participate in the event, organizers said.

As well, famous local singers will perform at a gala dinner on June 5 to raise money for charity.
