HA 03 - Highlights Of Vietnam - North To South - 12days/11nights   

Day 1: Arrival Hanoi City (D)

Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and oriental temples Arrive in Hanoi . Meet the guide and transfer to hotel. Take a cyclo tour about 1 hour going around the 36 streets of the famous Old Quarter, the Vietnamese version of the rickshaw. In the evening, enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi .

Day 2: Hanoi - Halong - Lao Cai City (B, L, D)

After breakfast, drive to Ha Long Bay listed as a World Natural Heritage. Enjoy a relaxing 5-hour boat trip through Ha Long Bay , fresh seafood lunch is prepared and served on broad. Afternoon, drive back to Ha Noi and transfer to the railway station for a 10-hour train trip in comfortable, air-conditioned sleeping compartments to Lao Cai.

Day 3: Lao Cai - Sapa City (B, L, D)

Early morning arrive at Lao Cai, the border between Vietnam & China . Depart to Sapa which is mountainous city with approx. 1500m above sea level. On clear day you can see the highest mountain of Viet Nam the Fansipan.
After a continental breakfast at the hotel you have time to relax and enjoy the beautiful landscape from your balcony. Late morning take a coach trip to Ta Phin and Cat Cat villages, home of local minorities. Lunch at local restaurant. Late Saturday afternoon stroll to the farmed love market in Sapa town (advise going on time on Sat).

Day 4: Sapa-Hanoi City (B, L, D)

A morning walking tour of Sapa visits the busy market where Dao, H’mong and other hill tribes converge from the surrounding countryside to sell their embroidery, silverware and handicrafts. Return to Hanoi after lunch via Lao Cai. Late afternoon transfer to Lao Cai railway station and overnight train rides to Hanoi in comfortable sleeping compartment.

Day 5: Hanoi City (B, L, D)

After breakfast visit Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum, the Palace of the former Governor of Vietnam, the wooden stilt house where Ho Chi Minh lived for the last years of his life and the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum, the Temple of Literature , the Lake of the Restored Sword. In the evening enjoy a traditional Vietnamese water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi .

Day 6: Ha noi - Da nang - Hoi An (B, L, D)

After breakfast transfer to Noi Bai Airport for the short flight to the central port city of Da Nang . On arrival in Da Nang transfer to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years. Take a walking tour of the ancient town center to visit former merchants’ houses, the 400 year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful market. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 7 : Hoi An - Hue City (B, L, D)

Leave Hoi An in the morning for Hue . Stop on the way to climb up Marble Mountains , visit China Beach and the Cham museum in Danang. The scenic route passes through Da Nang before climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds and descending to the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co. Arrive in Hue late in the afternoon. Have dinner at a local restaurant and stay overnight in Hue .

Day 8: Hue City (B, L, D)

A boat trip on the romantically named Perfume River visits Thien Mu Pagoda, and the mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc, in a tranquil setting of gardens and lakes. After lunch in a local restaurant visit the Imperial Citadel, from where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945, and Dong Ba Market, famous for selling the best conical hats in Vietnam . In the evening, a chance to dress up in period costume for one of the highlights of Hue , the Royal Dinner. Overnight in Hue .

Day 9: Hue-Ho Chi Minh City City (B, L, D)

After breakfast transfer to Hue Airport for the short flight to Ho Chi Minh City and transfer to hotel on arrival. A city tour of dynamic Ho Chi Minh City still called Saigon by many locals. After lunch in a local restaurant takes in the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Saigon Post Office and then continues to Thien Hau Pagoda and Binh Tay Market in the city’s bustling Chinatown . Have dinner in a local restaurant. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 10: Ho Chi Minh City -My Tho-Ho Chi Minh City City (B, L, D)

A full day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta, just a couple of hours by road from the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City ’s streets. Take a boat trip along narrow waterways overhung with dense vegetatio and try exotic fruits in one of the many orchards. For lunch sample the local delicacy, Elephant’s Ear Fish. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 11: Ho Chi Minh City-Cu Chi- Ho Chi Minh City City (B, L, D)

After breakfast, take a coach trip to the famous Cu Chi Tunnels, an incredible underground tunnel network constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. Back to the hotel and have a lunch. In the afternoon visits the former Presidential Palace, Ben Thanh market for shopping. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City .

Day 12: Departure Ho Chi Minh City City (B)

Downtown shopping (embroideries, lacquerware, woodcarvings,) or at leisure before checkout. Transfer to airport for departure.
